What's Ms. Marvel’s strong connection with India’s Partition?

Kamala Khan aka. Ms. Marvel is the newest addition to the MCU and is winning hearts globally. Even though the character is a Pakistani - American but whatever is Pakistani has definitely their roots to India.

The recent episode 4 provides us deep insight of how Kamala’s family was devastated due to the 1947 Partition of India which is definitely a world historic event that billions of people still mourn for.

Recently, Indian PM Narendra Modi introduced Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14 which is the day Indian subcontinent was partitioned into India and Pakistan based on the religion because of some “Old Englishmen” who didn’t understand the demographics of the land at that moment and relied on past data.

The till time best scene in the series, Kamala and her grandmother, Sana talk about the Partition and the effects it has on generations of milliions of people and which forms the collective psyche of all Pakistani people.

In the best statement of the series, Sana says that, “ My passport is Pakistani, my roots are in India. And in between all of this, there is a border. There is a border marked with blood and pain.”

These lines are so true that every Indian and Pakistani can feel it. The horrors of the partition still haunts us till date and Kamala can feel the horrors too because she is teleported back 75 years into 1947 at the time of Partition.

We can see the partition metaphor in crucial parts of the series such as the division between Real world and the Home dimension of the Djinn. Waleed ( Farhan Akhtar) explains this beautifully that both the realities co-exist and share a space separated by the veil of Noor energy.

And obviously if the dimensions breaks and the Djinn can reach to the bangle through then “They will unleash their world onto ours. Until there’s nothing left to it.”

The border between the Djinn dimension and the Earth 616 world is an analogy between the border of India and Pakistan.

The analogy between The Djinn dimension and India’s Partition can provide Kamala with a solution where the two dimensions can live together peacefully like India and Pakistan does at the moment.
