We all fell in love with Venom and the bond between Eddie and Venom. The bond between these two is no less than some romantic movie plot . They both are not too fond of each other, Eddie has put restrictions on Venom and what not. They both have a connection which resembles the modern relationship where we all are managing to live with our partner and adjusting to the nuances of their personality and being.
In the recent trailer we all saw the agreements and disagreements between Eddie and Venom and this can be seen clearly when Venom wants to eat the store owner just because she didn't get him his favorite chocolate.
Well, we can say that they resemble a toxic relationship but the trailer and overall the movie focusses on something else too- The birth of Carnage. We all know that "there will be Carnage" as the phrase is in the title of the movie. But why is Venom afraid of Carnage?
The question seems vague if we look at the history of Symbiotes. Venom being a symbiote is the weakest of them all. We saw that in the first movie that Riot was their leader and had qualities that enabled him to lead. What were those qualifies??
Riot was able to build arsenal right from his symbiotic body but Venom is not able to do that even now. We can argue that Riot was defeated but was he??
Well, technically Venom didn't defeat Riot, he just outsmarted him. Venom was never able to defeat Riot. Riot himself appreciated the bond Venom has with his host Eddie. Riot said that Eddie is strong which makes Venom capable enough to pick a fight with him.
On the other hand, Venom is only capable of providing a shield or armor. We have so far seen Venom only extending his body and using it as a shield. However, with the intellect of Eddie he is able to make some other modifications to use them in time of fight or flight.
We know that Carnage is capable of doing a lot more what Venom is capable of. The reason behind that is Carnage's bonding with its host - Cletus Kasady. Eddie allows Venom to control him to some extent but on the other hand Cletus has allowed full control to Carnage which makes their bond much more deeper and stronger than Eddie and Venom.
This is because of the common hunger of both for Blood. Cletus wants revenge and has given up on his humanity and we will be able to see that in the movie but Eddie still has a lot control over Venom and his own body which makes this impossible with Venom.
So, straight up Venom is afraid of the impossible deep bond of Cletus with Carnage and he knows that they are going to be a difficult opponent to battle.
